And so paying that second retainer payment is really never an issue.
About $85,000.
That's actually not bad.
That's pretty good.
Well, I left the largest search firm in the world with a salary higher than that.
Yeah.
You know, Nathan, I'm happy to answer that because I think it's a really interesting situation that allowed me to take that entrepreneurial leap.
And so during my time at Hydric and Struggles, my base salary ranged from anywhere from $85,000 to $95,000.
But then with upside and bonuses and things, I had earned as much as $280,000.
Well, after
After the downturn in 2001, they changed the comp plan so significantly that my ability to earn over my base salary was really, really hampered.
I had been making more than double what I earned.
what I was earning at the end, but the economy was so bad and the world of search was so depressed that it was very, very hard to take a leap.
I had a house, two cars in the driveway, a young baby at home.
And all of a sudden, at the end of 2002, I said, you know what?
I'm in a situation where I could potentially do half as much revenue
and make twice as much money.
My last year revenue at Hydric and Struggles was close to $750,000.
