Uh, because in the NFL, often when you have already come close and come short, that was the moment you needed X, Y, and Z.

If you go chasing it, here we are.

Like you end up oftentimes sliding back the next year.

So, you know, that is a huge challenge with him, though, what that relationship is going to be like and the times where you might have to push back of, well, our coach wants this, but it's not the right time to.

You know, decide to do it.

I mean, it would be a big move to sign Brian O'Neill to a contract extension.

I also think it would be kind of an obvious move to sign Brian O'Neal to a contract extension.

I mean, yes, he is in his thirties, and is some as soon as someone hits their thirties, we go, Oh, he's close to death.

Uh, but that's not really true with offensive tackles.

All the time with top athlete offensive tackles, Lane Johnson is one of them, Trent Williams, Jason Peters.

You could say O'Neal's not quite on that level, but he's pretty darn close.

I mean, he is a top 10 to 15 player in the league at that position.

Those guys usually tend to have really good track records, even if the health isn't perfect.

Uh, still usually going into their early 30s, those guys are good.

So if you sign him to a four or five-year contract, maybe five might be a little long, four-year contract extension that's really about a three-year extension.

You need offensive tackle play.

I mean, I think that last year was a little bit of a reminder to Vikings fans, like, oh yeah, it's not always like this because it has been for a long time.

And when I first got here in 2016, it was a nightmare for them.

And then after that, you know, the tackle play, even Riley Reef, has mostly been either fine or awesome with Christian Derisau and Brian O'Neill.

So I'm not in favor at all of just letting one of the better offerings.
