You're right about the rain.

I remember the rain as well.

I went out um campaigning early in the morning, delivering some leaflets for sort of photos for activists and that sort of thing.

And the torrential rain in London, the south was good for us, but good weather in the north where m more of our voters were.

So that was really important as well.

And in terms of where we thought things were on the night, uh, the final phone call between the sort of five key people: myself, Dominic Keisler, Michael Boris.

I remember Boris and Michael, they were more concerned about what happened next in terms of a basically remain victory.

That was a working assumption and how to sort of stitch the Tory party back together.

Those talk of a joint letter between sort of Leave MPs and Remain MPs coming back together to support David Cameron.

So really their assumption was that Remain had won as well.

Whereas Geisler and myself thought that actually Leave was the only chance.

One big regret.

Um, after the campaign, um, uh you know, the morning of the twenty fourth, uh, we just won.

Uh David Cameron announced his resignation and we had the press conference at uh vote leave with Boris and Michael and Giesel, all the things sort of

shamefaced and um uh not very positive and jubilant at all.

Um, that was a bad moment what happened afterwards, in the sense that at that point there was nobody on the airways actually making the case for Brexit and what happened explain the way forward for the country.

We moved straight into basically the sort of Tory party leaders election and sort of Tory psycho wars and what have you, which wasn't a good thing.
