The next great Canadian soccer player, men's and women's, was born through watching this tournament.
So they're going to need the infrastructure.
And they're going to need an increasingly competitive team.
This is not just a, hey, we've made the round of 16 and now we can continue to push for that.
That bar has to continually be challenged and raised at an infrastructure level, at a development and competitive side level, because those kids who want to wear that Canadian jersey for both the men's and the women's, they're coming.

And at the other side, too, how we cover the team, how we judge the team is going to be different.
This was literally beyond a collector's item.
It was a national moment for a national movement.
That is not going to be the case when the World Cup is over.
I mean, soccer, although I know having been covering the sport for a long time, seeing the reaction of everyone who was entranced by this tournament, it's going to be different.
There's going to be more of a profile.

Jonathan David didn't have a great tournament, and we really weren't focused on that because we were focused on an anti-historic run.
