When I was at Gosford, because they moved me from Tugwell Lakes to Brisbane Water, Gosford, and this was one of the toughest things I'd ever done in my career.
I had one of my officers, Peter Gordon, who was killed up on the F3.
He was a highway patrol officer working from Gosford.
Him and his off-sider were working radar up on the F3 northbound.
They were doing the radar work and they tried to stop a car speeding.
Anyway, pure accident, but one car was driving too fast itself and hit another car, then veered off and collected Gordie.

And I flew down to the Central Coast as quick as I could to the scene.
He'd been taken to hospital at that stage.
But dealing with his off-sider, who was just distraught, then getting down to the hospital and, you know, seeing a police officer with, you know, tubes and different things still in his uniform and passing.
