that individuals within the city, you know, there'd be people wanting to leave the city, get out of the city and return home, they'd see police officers at their train stations.
So there would be a level of comfort
that they were secure.
Let's get that in place immediately, and then which we did.
What followed from there was the police executive, the police commissioner's executive, then undertook what I think they referred to it as Operation Hammerhead,
which was all about making sure that our level of visibility in New South Wales Police was heightened.
Again, making sure that our society was calm, that this was a one-off, we've dealt with it.
Look at our, whether it's transport, look at our road systems, look at the way we operate.
We've got everything in place that you can go about your daily business safely.
So we played a fairly significant role in that Operation Hammerhead, making sure there was a lot of police visibility on the police transport network, hoping that we were getting the message across we're there for the safety and support of our community.
The whole issue in regards to decision-making of Lint, I had nothing to do with.
Difficult situation, you know.
Again, hindsight's a wonderful thing.
But it's just another tragic incident in New South Wales policing history, I believe, with the outcome of Lint.
Yeah.
The men from the Tactical Operations Unit, God bless them, they did a fantastic job under the most trying of circumstances.
You know, I've met some of those boys and they're fantastic fellas, do such a professional job, highly skilled, highly experienced.
You know, it's just, you know, it was tragic the fact that, you know, there was loss of life outside of Man Morris.
