But the point is to keep going no matter what.
Not to give up.
not to let the zombies win or the people who say it can't be done.
And when you go to sleep at night, even if you're alone, you can dream of a better world.
Some people are going to insist that it's a losing battle, that no matter what we do, there will always be another setback, another war to fight.
And in some ways they're right.
That's what life has always been.
a never-ending desire to overcome obstacles, to seek and find the light that is always on, but which is sometimes not in plain view.
That's what I seek to teach you, my son.
That's the whole letter, and it's not signed, but I think that's an important message, especially right there at the end.
The light isn't always visible, but it is always there.
And some days are going to be harder than others, but that doesn't mean we get to quit.
It can sound trite to say it out loud, but having an I'm-not-quitting attitude can be half the battle.
It can get you through those tough days when the shadows are long and the light is flickering.
Maybe I'm getting a little too poetic here, and maybe I've made my point, and at this stage I'm just belaboring it.
So maybe I should sign off and let everyone go about their day.
