was just making a comment on a general editorial based on his editorial views.
But regardless of what you think about their explanation for this, the timing certainly was bad.
The optics were certainly bad that he would make that editorial suggestion just the day after going to a private meeting at the White House with which they're not disclosing the details about what it was focused on.
You know, I think it's really it's it's hard to see this in another way if they're not necessarily going to explain it or talk at all about what was what was said in the meeting.
I mean, I find the idea that it doesn't rate well to be very curious.
I think the images have been somewhat damaging.
I mean, Trump himself in a report in The Wall Street Journal, they said that Trump didn't like the images of the White House.
And this has been a really big story that a lot of other news organizations have seen, you know, high transparency.
traffic and ratings on.
So I do struggle with the idea that I didn't think that this was an interesting story.
Look, I think that people at CNN seem to think that the leadership at CNN seems to suggest that there's other big stories going on competing with this.
Maybe that's what Mark was trying to get at.
But I think the reality is that all of these organizations, for the reasons that you're talking about, many of these organizations are under a lot of scrutiny because they have tried to tack
back towards the center or the right.
In some instances, we have the recent moves with CBS is another one, the Washington Post deciding to not endorse Kamala Harris and get rid of a lot of its existing editorial board and leadership.
So these networks are under a lot of scrutiny from
from both sides.
My personal view is that they shouldn't just be thinking about scrutiny from Trump and the White House and these folks, which I think is a big concern given these larger corporate concerns that the bosses are afraid of.
But they should also, of course, be scared of backlash from many of their viewers.
And many legacy organizations like CNN have a lot of viewers that are obviously of a different political ideology and persuasion.
