It was called Shepton, the Myth, Miracle, and Music.

And that sort I just sort of stumbled down the rabbit hole.

You know, I just fell into the paranormal.

I didn't I wasn't looking for it.

That wasn't my intent.

You know, I'm uh basically a rock journalist.

I'm a rock and roll.

I look at the culture of rock and roll and try to make sense of it and validate it.

And what I was doing was uh I was writing a rock mythology.

Connecting the 1971 song Timothy with the 1963 Shefton Mining Disaster.

So let me explain to your listeners, if I may.

Um there was a a band from the northeastern Pennsylvania called the Boys, B-U-O-Y-S.

And they had a song written by Rupert Holmes, you know, the Pina Colada man.

And Rupert was Rupert was trying to write a song

that was controversial to get the boys some notoriety because they were running out of options with Scepter Records.

So he wrote the song about cannibalism and uh uh unfortunately it got banned by major radio stations like WABC.

And rather than the boys receiving that notoriety, the song did.
