you know, it's just really hard to keep the mental focus there, um, at the end of the night and and and like
Yeah, sometimes I'm like, why?
Just go to bed, start again tomorrow morning.
It's a long race.
Uh, I tried to sleep like four or four and a half hours in the beginning and I slept five hours, probably from like Lima onwards, because I felt like I wasn't recovering.
And I think I learned from Silk Road the impact that altitude has.
And I did do some acclimation, but that doesn't mean that altitude doesn't impact me.
After doing Silk Road and finding that like five hours was better sleep, I kind of did that in this race.
And I also felt like I was building a buffer or I had like a, you know.
I had a lead on the record time.
So I could afford to take an extra 30 to 60 minutes of sleep.
Um, I feel like I I've definitely felt better because of it.
And I noticed other racers around me, like um Dries Vanderklesh from Belgium was sleeping longer and you know, hearing reports of Victor sleeping longer.
And as much as I try to race my own race, hearing, you know, hearing chatter from other people, like
Does still influence me.
And um I'm like, well, they're racing pretty strong.
Um
Why not give it a try?
In the beginning of the race, I feel like it's hard to like that first night.
I had a hard time like deregulating and going to sleep.
