It also gives me a great uh in to Yap about modern cosmic horror and how, you know, current Lovecraftian craftsmen are doing it different and doing it

queer and uh as diverse as it possibly can be as opposed to uh the way he started it.

I would like to say that I did something purposeful there, but I am just a yapper and I I um I get dinged for it a lot.

My editor uh is just always hanging her head, shaking.

Like, shut up, girl.

But um I I'd love to root the cosmic horrors, the unknowable horrors in as tangible a sensory

base as I possibly can and sometimes that just goes for a while.

Oh yeah.

I mean I I fell down such an anthropological rabbit hole researching Enochian, which is, you know, the

the the text that's kind of funkified by the Leviathan throughout the book.

You know, they get to the cave.

And the characters are very recognizable, textbook perfect, but you know, as they get deeper into the cave, it's clear that whoever's, you know, writing these runes and using this Enochian as a base alphabet, um, is twisting them and using them in a way that is maybe outside the experience of whatever celestial body created the text in the first place.

And I I mean the chapter headers in the physical book

are they aren't numbers, they're Enochian

characters that together spell out something.

So that in it in and of itself is its own, you know, written in mythology into the physical book itself.

And um it was such a rabbit hole to go down.

I knew so little about it.
