A warning from AAA as the monster storm bears down.

AAA spokeswoman Megan Cooper says slick ice snow-packed roads reduce traction while speeding, tailgating, and poorly maintained vehicles increases danger.

She adds prepping your car with winter tires, a strong battery, and proper fluid levels is essential for safety.

If you do become stranded, AAA says stay inside your vehicle unless it's unsafe to do so.

Turn on your hazard lights, call for help and share your GPS location, run the engine about 10 minutes per hour, and crack a window for ventilation.

Layer clothing, stay hydrated, and conserve your phone battery.
