She was the financial leader in her household.

And she was a self-made woman.

So she paid for her own house.

She like she did all of these things at in a historical time when that wasn't normal for a woman to do.

And so she taught me so many things just from the things that I heard her say, but also the things that I watched her practice.

I I think money was always something that was really important for everyone in my family.

I think it was important in different ways.

I think for my parents, pursuing more money equated to more more happiness and more fulfillment.

And so I definitely internalized that.

Whereas my grandmother saw more money as a way of creating independence and options for yourself and safety and security.

But I didn't really see

Money bring her a whole lot of joy besides saving it as much as possible.

So she never really spent a lot of money on herself.

Um, and my parents did spend money on themselves.

And so there was a lot of conflict um because of that, because you know, their value set was different.

And I do remember from the very young age of knowing that money, I wanted money to do all of those things for me.

I wanted it to create more joy, more fulfillment, more happiness.

More peace in a household.

Cause I think, you know, financial stress can absolutely impact marriages and families.

There's no doubt about that.
