Is that because we dehumanize the Palestinian people?
Is that because we don't see Palestinians as equal human beings like everyone else?
Why do we flinch in one case but not the other?
All right.
Let's just separate out very quickly two things.
Number one, Biden's base.
Clearly, the Gaza issue is seen through multiple different lenses.
I'll come to that one second.
Just on the base, it's a good question you ask.
If you look at the polling, yes, you do see a division between Democrats and Republicans on who they support or who they sympathize with in the Gaza-Israel conflict.
But actually, the biggest gap you see in the polling, Don, in this country is generational.
It's astonishing.
If you look at over 65s fully supporting Israel.
Because it's generational more than it is ethnic or party affiliation or ideological.
I think young people are much more familiar with issues of justice, much more familiar with what's happening in the world, much more willing to recognize the humanity of Palestinians in the way that older and whiter Americans probably aren't and haven't been used to over the last few decades.
Not everyone.
Let's not make sweeping statements.
We've seen students being unable to identify the river to the sea.
There's a great gotcha, great mate night comedy clips.
Look, I don't think it's just about education.
