And having Gunnar, who's used to the leadoff spot, is that good balance as your number two behind him to keep that chain moving and then get on himself.
And so for Ward, he just said, you know, this year he has noticed that he does sit back a little longer.
He lets that pitch travel a little farther to get a better read on it.
I don't know if maybe this is a reaction to the ABS zone because we haven't dove into it with him since probably three or four weeks ago at this point when the walks really started to become prevalent for him.
But he did just say overall, like it's just kind of one of those weird years where.
He feels like even those pitches that are super hittable for him are coming out on the fringes of the zone.
So you're not going to give yourself up by expanding or coming up empty there.
But he is very aware that even though he's reaching with the walks, he would rather be getting the big ones, sending them out of the park.
And that's something they work on all the time.
We've seen his numbers dip a little bit.
He's kind of on the lower scale in the last five days.
I want to say he's about 190.
And I can just imagine that that is coming with, okay, listen, this is great, but I'm restless.
I want to start connecting ball to bat and seeing what kind of damage I can do.
So for Taylor for now, we will wait and see what he's able to put together.
He and his family are settled in Towson having their third right before the season starts.
