You need to hear those stories from the teacher so you're not really missing out by not getting the photo of it, as long as you're still having that relationship with the teachers, right?
Do you think, and this is a hard question to ask and maybe to answer because I don't want it to come across as critical in any way, but is EdTech being used as a babysitter in some cases, in some classrooms?
Yes.

But I think that that point that you raise is exactly right and I think many teachers will agree that
If it is being used in some ways to keep this group busy for a time, it's because they're expected to carry out individual or put children into groups to give them specific instruction.
And how can you do that when you have such a large class?
You need to somehow keep the other children occupied.
And if it's keeping them occupied with something that is still going to be of some educational value, then sure, I can understand why you would choose that.
But I can only guess that there would be many teachers who would say, yeah, actually we would rather have another teacher with that group, but that's actually just not a possibility.
It's not something that our school is resourced to do, so we do the best with what we've got.
I've heard of parents who are saying, look, I know that there are laptops in class and some schools have a policy that they have to go home and back to school every day, but
I've heard of some parents who are saying, well, we're actually going to push back on the laptops coming home because they can stay with learning fine, but actually we want them to not feel the temptation or to even have the laptop at home, which is interesting.
Do you think that if you are giving your child a real low-tech experience at home, so either completely device-free or mostly device-free or just trying to limit it as much as you can, that that is in any way disadvantaging them for the high-tech world in which they're going to have to operate?
No.
Yeah.
We talk about it a little bit the same as food, because my children are still really young.
So we say, you know, there is food that makes you, you know, fast and strong, and it's really going to help you in your sport and in your thinking.
It's going to help your brain.
And then there is food that will slow that down a bit.
