It does take a lot of um you know time to to manage.
So rather than only looking for the absence of picking, pulling or biting, it can be really helpful to to notice and celebrate the small wins.
So again,
That may not take the complete frustration uh you know away, but that can remind you of some of the positive things.
Um, so again, greater awareness uh from that individual or talking openly about their urges or using a coping strategy or even reaching out to you or someone else for support.
Like these are real signs of progress.
Again, it just comes
kinda reminds us that um progress or success doesn't necessarily mean that they've stopped picking, pulling or biting.
It can also look like
Some of the things I've just mentioned.
Um, it can also be about finding a balance between offering support and giving them the space to work through their own recovery.
Um, so you can walk alongside them, but you can't you know you can't walk the journey for them.
And it just reinforces what we were just speaking about earlier.
Um it's you being that support person is not necessarily having all the answers and all the solutions.
um and knowing exactly how to get them to stop picking or pulling.
So by creating that space.
It's about reminding them that they're not they're not doing this alone.
And again, just uh
Often mental health doesn't only affect the person who is experiencing it.
It is experienced by the collective system.
