Okay, so I have like a model of the sun, the earth, and the moon for you.

Okay, so we are right now on the surface of the Earth, right?

Yeah, that I know.

So imagine you're spinning around and around.

The Earth is moving around and around.

And when we are on the part of the Earth that's facing away from the sun, that's what we call nighttime, right?

Right, yes.

Well, the moon also has a side that's lit up and a side that's dark.

And we see different amounts of that lit up side depending on where the moon is in its orbit around the sun.

So when we see a full moon, it's when the moon is in this really particular position where you've got the moon on one side of the earth and then the sun like on the other side.

So it's almost like the sun and the moon are making an earth sandwich.
