In so many respects, it is a world to die for.
Not half.
You'd kill us all.
We'll be dead at 65.
Ah, life expectancy at birth was indeed 10 or 12 years lower, I grant you.
But let this objection pass.
Old age, as we know because we read it everywhere, is a state of misery, penury, gaga, ill health, loneliness and abuse.
We plunder our children's inheritance to dribble into our Albran.
Is it any wonder they're queuing for suicide clinics in Switzerland?
Better, surely, to avoid all that and stop anyone entering retirement decrepitude and burden.
Worse health care, diet and housing and crippling jobs should do the trick.
Fortunately, 1948 had plenty.
You imply we'd be poorer, madam?
Nonsense!
Have you not blanched at the cost of a tank of petrol these days?
Have you not seen what they charge for a smartphone?
A phone, for goodness sake!
Are you not led by taxes, on the rack for the mortgage and aghast at the price of a decent seat at the Olympics?
Or all those so-called cheap flights where they stink you for the extras?
Can anyone doubt that we'd be better off if we didn't have to pay for any of these?
