I'd always double check.

If someone's telling me we've got interest from, I don't know, let's just use the Roosters, for example, the Roosters are interested in this player.

I would ring Nick or I would ring Trent Robinson or I would ring someone at the club and say, are you in for this person?

And then I would check that.

And then I would ring, sometimes I'd just ring the play directly if that was someone I got along with.

So I didn't just settle for what I was told from the agent.

And maybe that pissed a few agents off, but that didn't bother me because, yeah, as I said to you, there's more than one way to get information.

And if you haven't got a relationship or don't want a relationship with someone, there are other ways to find that out.

A lot of it is through my – I obviously take notes and I'm very big on writing lists of things I need to do.

And even every year, like sometimes you find yourself forgetting – not forgetting in a way where you just completely forgot about that person.

But because you have to get through so many people that you ring –

someone might slip your mind.

So every, every year I would read, I'd get my spreadsheet, go by club, everyone that I talked to at that club and write it out, times it by whatever it is, 17, 16 clubs.

And I would make sure that I've got that list so that on a Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday, I knew that I had to call this person to maintain that relationship.

You would constantly, I would be on the phone from the moment I woke up to the moment, you know, sort of trying to get the kids down, making sure, sometimes there's no point to the call, just saying, hello, hey Mark, what's happening latest?

And

Most of those calls would yield absolutely nothing.

But there'd be one call that someone would say, have you heard this?

Have you heard that?

And that leads to a story.
