so the player you're referencing is uh Holden Waters.

He's uh

High end draft pick of ours, he was taken second overall in the WHL draft.

Uh kind of dating back to when he was first drafted.

And uh last fall, we kind of have had conversations with his representation and his family about what may be the best long term fit for him to break into the league and then for him to have a a long pro hockey career.

And uh we kind of decided that for him to grow his game at Shattock St.

Mary's with the

Their uh eighteen new prep team was uh

decision that we landed on that that could provide him a lot of valuable ice time this year and continue to grow his game as he's a December fourth birthday.

He's not eligible for the draft for two more seasons.

So um he'll join us next year full time.

And is that going to be

No so it'll be next year uh will be the year before his draft year and then he'll spend

he's a six foot uh three right handed D man, a hundred and ninety five pounds.

He's still uh fift fourteen years old until December.

So um we kinda wanna make sure everything is going the right way with him and uh player like Jackson Lacombe who you saw in Anaheim play the Oilers in the first round, he is a D man that stayed at Shattuck an extra year instead of going junior and it's uh

Don't wanna put lofty expectations on 'em, but they play a very similar style, size, uh skill set.

Yeah, I think so.

I think l pri prior to this you'd kinda be able to map your team out for three to four years.

I think now if you have a draft class that these players have developed at a a good rate together that probably by the time they're seventeen, eighteen you have to make a decision in their eighteen year old year whether you wanna push a few more chips in and kind of a little more read and react and kind of reacting to how their development's going.
