Yeah, this tweet from MTG I thought was really striking is that she, you know, she really put herself out there with Republicans to voice support for this effort.
And she seems disappointed to not see that.

But I want to just caution everyone.
The flip side of this is that a lot of the victims have expressed concerns this year that they do not want to be re-victimized, that they want to make sure their information is not in here.
And that's always a concern for law enforcement.
And we just, I think the next question for members of Congress essentially is to what extent is or isn't the DOJ using that idea, this idea of protecting victims as a shield to release some of its material?
I think it's probably a mixture of both.
I mean, I would also just point out that back in the summer, the oversight committee subpoenaed the DOJ for their full and complete files and allowed for them to redact material.
But the Justice Department never provided those files to the oversight committee in response to that subpoena.
And now we're getting them, right?
But this was kind of one area where I think there was a real chance for Congress to control what they had, how they released it, what material they got.
Republicans sort of abdicated that responsibility.
And now this is what we're getting.
You know, there's no mediation here.
There's no chance for, it's not as if the Oversight Committee saw a bunch of unredacted documents and could tell us what's in them.
This is really allowing the Justice Department to set the narrative here.

I think one of the striking things about this is how little communication lawmakers in both parties have told me that they had with the Justice Department ahead of these releases.
I think there was a world in which there was a more open conversation between Pam Bondi, Todd Blanch, someone at the DOJ, and senators and committee chairs, people who really wanted to just get a better sense of what this material was.
