I mean, Max Scherzer, who I've
Been all over for a while.
Says he doesn't mind signing later in the season.
That's an option as well.
But they're going to need it at some point or they're going to have to kind of take a Tampa Bay model and really rotate guys in and out of the minor leagues to make sure that these guys have those innings as the season goes along.
And that's very difficult.
You're putting guys in some very vulnerable spots.
But you've got to pick a plan and run with it because that's the big question mark for me is how are we going to cover the innings?
And if something did happen, God forbid, what do we do?
And I know there's going to be some guys that step up.
There always are.
We still got Thomas Herring, too, I believe.
Still has really good stuff.
I think he lost his mindset and his mentality last year.
We have guys that can possibly step in.
But having guys that have been proven to do it before is big.
So, for me, it's watching and seeing who they're facing, when they're facing it, because a lot of times you have the pitchers working on something.
I mean, I think I'm up to, like,
50 guys with new pitches that i'm keeping count of over spring training so guys are trying new things so a lot of times they put themselves in a really weird spot because they're throwing a change up an account they wouldn't and these guys bat seats haven't sped up or guys that come in they're just trying to blow smoke to show off as young guys so you kind of watch what guys are hitting because they're not going to get pissed the same in spring training as they probably will in the season
But I do watch the young guys coming off the bench and seeing how they respond.
