The Taliban were providing security for us outside of the gates.
So they watch them come out of the exit gates, and who knows what happens to them.
So here are young Marines taking women and children out, probably to be killed, or at least something horrible.
The next day, the State Department says, Oh, yeah, families can come.
So they're thinking, I took people out to be killed who didn't need to be killed.
Wait a day and they'd be
saved.
So they're haunted the rest of their lives by causing the death of women and children that didn't need to be caused.
So it's not, and and these are young Marines, the ones at the gates, the corporals and enlisted people at the gates.
They're 18, 19, 20-year-old people.
They're young men mainly, and some and women, young men and women.
And they join the Marine Corps because they want to help and save people, and especially women and children.
So they're really haunted by this forever.
You know, it haunts their dreams, their nightmares.
You know, and it's really a spiritual crisis as much as a psychological crisis.
And they don't get the help that they should from the military because if you've been wounded in battle, the military thinks, oh, well, you're you're a hero, or you know, or you know, we we celebrate you.
But the military does not want to celebrate people who've taken women and children out to exit gates to be killed by the Taliban, nor do they want to remind the American people that such things happen.
Because as you say, they should not happen in the Marine Corps or any American service.
So that's how it happens.
