Funnily enough, there are actually quite a lot of parallels with professional golf.
It is certainly a sport like real estate where you have to put the hard yards in to get the results.
I think with how I ended up transitioning into real estate, it was by opportunity.
I was actually studying at university and I had a couple of connections within the real estate game that I honestly had never thought of looking at doing.
And the opportunity came up to do leasing here with a prominent agency in Canberra
that have been around for a long time.
And that's how I got my start in the leasing space.
Then I guess progressed into a sales role and never looked back, I guess.
I guess the biggest thing, and I do say this to a lot of new agents coming into the industry, and you've touched on it, it is the real fundamentals.
And what I mean by the fundamentals, it's getting on the phone, connecting with people, getting yourself out there, making yourself known because we always talk about it, but it's
not about who you know, it's who knows you.
And I think whilst your networks and your contacts can certainly add a good layer to your business, it's the real fundamentals like getting on the phone and grafting away, you getting in front of the people that you want to be getting in front of.
And what comes with that is just a lot of hard work, hours, and just making sure you're doing all the little things right.
