So, like, there's an element of, like, we know these schemes work hugely.

We know this scheme has worked.

Recycling rates have gone up from under half to nearly 90%.

We know that the amount of litter of cans and bottles has fallen by about half.

So we know it works.

We knew it worked in other countries, but there's always going to be local teething issues.

And this, unfortunately, is one of them.

There was someone who was asked to turn around a quick memo and now they're having their idea discussed on flagship radio on RT.

Yeah, I scavenged around these figures a little bit myself because I was curious when I saw the figure over 300,000.

It's a little under, it sounds like a lot, but it's not actually additional money being spent.

It's a little under 1% of what the city council spends on street cleaning in a year, which is about 67 million.

So the idea was they just kind of estimated, look, we have to clean this up.

How much time is it costing us to clean this up?

It's probably about a percent or a little less than that.

So like there is a cost issue.

There is a problem.

I'm not going to come on and pretend there isn't.

But it's just it's so clear if you do litter cleanups or you look at the figures of people who've gone and looked at the litter and broken it down by like this thing is working and it is reducing the amount of litter hugely.

There are problems and we can't deny them.

And you do have to try and design them out.
