And I appreciated his hesitation because if I were in his shoes, I would have thought a minute or two before I said what he said.
And I absolutely would have said what he said.
Let's break it down.
It's about black men not supporting a black woman.
And he went there and talked about that tension.
You and I talked about that tension.
A number of Black men have talked about that tension between Black men and Black women that has been exacerbated in a whole host of ways for a whole lot of reasons, which we can get into with a good bottle of bourbon and
probably a little extra fun to keep it lively.
There you go.
That works too.
But you know, he went there.
And the fact that
I think it's an honest conversation and I appreciated him saying it.
I have no criticism of Barack Obama saying what he said, because it's about time we'd be honest with each other as black men about the situation.
And there is, I said this to Don Callaway recently,
And I said, you know, there's this perceived jealousy between the black female and the black male, black men, young men, especially looking at their young black female counterparts surpassing them and being leveled up more than them.
And it goes to a condition in this country that still keeps the Black male at the bottom of the rung at the end of the day.
There's still more of that struggle for him than for her.
And that's an honest piece that needs to get addressed.
How young Black men are educated in our public school systems and our school systems writ large.
