Um, because if we don't, then we're gonna lose players.

And we're not gonna just lose players, we're gonna lose these players.

And so that was a that was a really hard pill to swallow because you're sort of sitting there and it's like, Well, okay, it's nice to keep getting rewarded.

Um, but what's the ultimate impact going to be and what actually really truly matters?

Is it about the money or is it sort of about the the medal, you know, and and playing together with your mates?

And

So that eight to ten players all decided to take a haircut, um, in the room.

And um, you know, some went away and thought about it and others were up front and said, Yep.

What sort of names would have been.

Oh, you're talking about Nigel Lappin, Justin Leppitsch, um, Chris Scott.

Yeah, you're talking y all these sorts of players that the blue guys.

Yeah, they were the they were the mainstays that were in there for that, you know, yeah, I guess you could probably sort of saying leadership group plus a f uh plus a few others that had been around.

For a while.

We collectively decided to be able to take that position.

We didn't influence each other in the way that we wanted to be able to do it.

There was nothing going to be held against anybody, although we probably would have if if uh someone decided not to.

It was our own personal choice and and that's the personal choice that we decided to.

And I think you're starting to see a little bit more of that throughout, and it's tougher to have because now the levers are different where it used to be about trade or free or or the drafting, whereas now you've got free.

agency and and so you've got these you know big numbers that are getting thrown around and you didn't have seven year contracts and eight year contracts to be able to leverage for them that guaranteed you the rest and you couldn't smooth out the contracts over um a period of time.
