Yeah, completely.
You could feel that early on.
I've said this a few times about Spain.
It's almost like they bring the game down to the pure maths, where they'll have more possession, they'll tie you out.
You can't do the same.
You've done only certain openings you've got.
And you basically have to get certain equations very right to have a chance against them.
That's the challenge of playing them.
I think it's more a statement within a bigger discussion.
Because look, Spain's positional game, which is basically the official title of the approach, which is essentially Pep Guardiola football, it's been the dominant form now for 18 years.
It's influenced virtually every academy in the world.
ironically, outside France, who have taken a slightly different approach.
And that's still going to be the case.
It's just as opposed to, there's been a bit of a fracturing of it as things naturally develop, as the game evolves, as people figure out responses.
So I think core principles are going to stay there, but go in a different direction.
I don't think...
you'll see as many teams pronouncing that style.
But that's also because very few can play it in the way it's intended to be played without the necessary players.
Hence, like a lot of teams have realized, there's no point trying to mimic Man City when you don't have that quality.
And with Spain in the international game, well, no one's going to be able to do this like Spain.
