College football coaches together in the late 60s, early 70s, they literally had to teach PE.
That's why you needed a master's because in those days, football coaches didn't coach football.
There wasn't any budget.
So they had to actually teach college courses.
So Lou Holtz was throwing a volleyball out.
My dad's teaching racquetball.
They'd go on recruiting trips in one car.
They'd go to my grandmother's house in Pittsburgh, and he'd sleep on the couch.
