Most of the time I love diversity.
Sometimes it hurts and sometimes it's challenging.
But I think that's something that I always look for as a leader, as somebody who's willing to listen, invite the unsaid, but certainly commit to something they don't know how to do that is really going to make a difference and then work their way backwards from there.
What's your why?
And I guess it's changed over time, but coming from Marurewa, becoming a top CEO, now a business coach, what's been the why that's kept you going through any tough time?
Yeah, so probably two things.
So you mentioned Manarewa.
That's a really good example of, I think, never forget where I came from is part of it.
I have no Iwi affiliation, but whakapapa, the concept of it, I think is very important to me.
And then the second thing, and I've been really clear on this for 25 years now, I am here to realise individual and organisational potential.
That's my why.
I did that all my time at Z. I did that for part of my career with BP.
I do that in the work that I do today.
So that's what excites me.
That's where my passion is, to be able to contribute to people in a way that they can get better individually and their organizations can get better.
That's my why.
So yeah, deeply grounded in my Manarewa past and that whakapapa there and the potential for people and individuals is what gets me excited.
