I mean, you've got to care for your people.

There's a great quote from a guy called Simon Sinek, who's a renowned thought leader.

He said, customers cannot love your company until your employees love it first.

Say that again.

Customers cannot love your company until your employees love it first.

I thought it was just great.

So if your employees aren't really up for all the challenges that are there, if they don't really feel cared for, that their interests are aligned with the interests of the business, then you're off to a difficult start.

So rule number one, make sure your people are okay.

Rule number two, remember you're in business to make a profit.

So make sure that whatever it is you're providing or selling, that you're making a little bit more money than what it costs you to get there.

And I think sometimes businesses almost like fudge it because business owners are so committed to their business when things aren't going well.

They say hope is not a reliable strategy.

So you can tend to hope that, yeah, I hope that we get out of this economic stuff.

I hope that my cost of goods drop.

I hope my revenue goes up.

You've got to be careful that you don't kind of pursue hope as true hope rather than, look, I'm in the shit, so to speak, just got to work my way through it.

So I'd say keep the economics in mind, look after your people.

I think remember that businesses are all about solving pain points.

People only use your services or buy your products because you're fixing something for them.

So I think it's really important to keep focused on actually what is it that I'm solving for customers and how do I make sure I keep doing that and solving that and getting better at that
