General Motors has talked in not quite as specific terms, but we don't want to go back to the days where we have that much inventory on our dealer lots.
Volkswagen's talked about it.
So the car companies are all talking about it.
It's sort of this big game of chicken, right?
Because if you do it and you have a third less vehicles at your dealerships than the guy you're competing against, they run the risk of losing market share because your competitor has all these cars sitting there.
A customer is impatient.
You don't have what they want.
They're going to go down the road and find what they're looking for.
Well, you know, a major objective for Ford looking at doing this is to reduce the amount of money they spend every month on incentives and discounts and 0% financing.
They won't have to do as much of that if they know what people want and people are ordering from the factory and they have fewer cars on the lot.
It sort of reduces those incentives.
So for the consumer,
Yeah, there may not be the sort of raging end of the month, $2,000 cash back kind of deals that people have been conditioned to.
Those might start to go away to some extent.
You're still going to have that.
Yeah, I think what you're seeing is just a continued sort of running out of steam on the consumer's part.
