Not just one country, but basically all of European soccer has come out against this.
In a statement yesterday, UEFA said all 55 of its member nations would boycott FIFA-organized events if this plan goes through.
That means major teams like France, England and Germany, Spain, which just won the Men's World Cup this month,
They're supposed to host the next World Cup alongside Portugal and Morocco.
Poland is supposed to host a youth World Cup this year.
All of that could be off the table if Infantino's new plan goes into effect.
UEFA cited a number of reasons for the boycott, including a lack of communication and a desire to preserve the game.
Some things are simply too important to sell, according to a statement from that organization.
But there's also this big concern about corruption.
And it's worth reiterating just how big a deal this would be.
Infantino is one of the most important people in sports.
The World Cup is watched by millions around the globe.
UEFA's not alone in opposing this.
CONCACAF, the federation made up of the US, Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean countries, also yesterday came out against this plan.
Now, the rest of FIFA's members have until September 19th to decide what to do.
But until then, fans will be waiting to see just how loud money talks.
Crazy to think that after so many weeks of World Cup fever, the whole thing could be upended.
