Because as you mentioned, Emily Moreno is the daughter of Senator Bernie Moreno, who is a former Ohio congressman.
Well, these allegations are coming at a very pivotal time for Republicans as they work to defend their razor-thin majority this November in the midterm elections.
And while House Speaker Mike Johnson has not called on Miller to resign nor drop his reelection bid, we know that President Trump
did call Miller on Monday to raise his concerns about Miller's reelection bid.
Trump told Miller that he doesn't know if he can win this seat anymore because these allegations will make it a tough race.
But we're also told that in that conversation, Miller showed absolutely no interest in ending his reelection bid.
But as you mentioned, on the more personal side, we've now heard from Senator Bernie Moreno quite a few times more recently.
On Sunday, he posted on X that he didn't believe that Miller should be serving in the House of Representatives and needs to seek professional help.
And then on Tuesday, we heard from him for the first time in a detailed manner on camera where the Ohio Senator really talked about the personal toll this is having on him and his family.
He also said that he didn't really want to talk about this publicly before out of respect for his daughter.
But after Miller went on that live stream on Sunday to talk about the allegations, he decided it was time to speak out.
And Lely, let's flip over to the Democrat side here.
The Ohio 7th District has voted for Republicans in the last several election cycles.
But do Democrats maybe see an opening here given the controversy swirling around Max Miller?
House Democrats definitely see an opening here.
You have to remember that House members are out of the Capitol for their August recess.
And this is really supposed to be a time where members are out campaigning, touting the legislation they have worked on thus far, and working to convince voters to keep a Republican majority in the House.
But now Miller won't have to answer for just his politics.
This race has now become very personal.
