I'm not putting on a tinfoil hat and saying he was forced out.
But it is I did not expect him to step down.
Well, so I was watching one of the games recently, the playoff game, and they said the Carolina Panthers have one of the biggest turnarounds defensively in NFL history.
They went from historically bad last year to halfway decent this year.
And then I looked at it, and Ejero Levero has been the defensive coordinator for three years.
And so he both was in charge of this really bad defense and also this dramatic turnaround.
Now, evidently they do not have a lot of talent on that side of the ball.
And also their quarterback was turning the ball over a ton.
So I think that stats are skewed
to a large degree in terms of like if you're just looking raw numbers, he has a much better reputation league-wide than he does statistics.
And he's been up for a number of coaching jobs in the past and was even blocked by David Tepper, the Carolina Panthers owner at one point, from interviewing for other defensive coordinator jobs because they felt so strongly about him.
So he's very much like a guy that people believe in.
They like his personality.
They like his vision.
They like his leadership style.
And they think that that is much better than what he's done with a roster devoid of talent on that side of the ball or just lacking in talent on that side of the ball.
Yeah, I would give him C+.
I agree with you.
He kind of feels like Tomlin.
Maybe he's the guy that you didn't know a lot about.
