Well, I would love nothing more than for Aaron Rodgers to appear at the draft and end another speculation cycle for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case based on what I'm hearing and the indications from Art Rooney, the team president.

Really, this team has continually moved the goalposts when it's come to a target for Aaron Rodgers.

First, around the NFL scouting combine, I talked with key decision makers in the front office, and they believed strongly that they were going to get a decision from Aaron Rodgers, and that decision was going to come around free agency.

That didn't happen.

Then they moved the goalpost a second time, and they said,

Art Rooney came out publicly and he said that he believed that they were going to get an answer around the draft or before the draft, which is why we're having this conversation about him coming out of the floor and appearing with smoke and announcing he's coming to Pittsburgh.

But now that does not seem to be the case.

And so now the new target date is OTAs, but are they going to hit that target or are they going to continue to push it back and back further and further?

Well, I think it would be from one of three position groups.

I think it would either be from the offensive line, wide receiver, or a defensive back.

You know, early on in this process, the talk was all about wide receiver, and that seemed to be the most glaring need for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Then they went out and they got Michael Pittman Jr., who at least answers that question to some degree.

Yeah.

So in the meantime, though, the thing that's happened is Broderick Jones, his neck injury is much more significant than what the team initially led on last year.

And not only do you have to factor in that he had spinal fusion surgery, which is a massive, significant surgery, he's also missing time in the weight room and he's an offensive lineman.

So, you know, I could see them drafting a guard.
