It is part of the the gig and it really isn't
something that would m ever mesh with the high standards of journalism for the New York Times.
I think that's one of the things the athletic and the New York Times realized in the aftermath of this.
But when you're talking about the audience believing you, when you look at the very strong denial she issued at the beginning, the language in her resignation letter, the
weird, bizarre claim from Superbowl week that she FaceTimed the head coach to get out of a ticket
for texting while driving when the body cam footage directly contradicts it, you're gonna have a basic level of credibility with the audience.
I think it makes it very hard to be a reporter again.
And also, when that Twitter account gets reactivated and she starts posting, we know what that cesspool is.
We know how that reaction's gonna be.
She dipped one toe into the water just reposting
a colleague's story a couple of days after all of this hit and it was a disaster and I feel like it's gonna continue to be that if she reemerges on Twitter.
And if you're gonna be a reporter, how can you stay off of Twitter?
It's the lifeblood for reporters and particularly insiders.
I think that's a great point.
And
the athletic when they posted their report last week of
the full review of her work to see if the actual or perceived conflict of interest impacted her reporting.
There was no mention of any of the reporting in and around the AJ Brown trade.
ESPN's got its own hot potato that it's managed to ignore.
whether and to what extent it was aware of an actual or potential relationship, how it may have affected reporting on the Julio Jones trade back in twenty twenty one from Atlanta to Tennessee.
