And it was just a good example of it yesterday.
Yeah, so we're going to go to Detroit right now, and I wanted to get this audio out there in the ether because we're going to have Will Birchfield on from 97.1 The Ticket later in the show to talk about this.
On Saturday, at home against the out-of-contention New Jersey Devils,
Detroit lost 5-3.
And in what was maybe a foreshadow here, Detroit blew not one, not two, but three leads in this game to lose 5-3.
And that was the story of Detroit's season.
They blew leads repeatedly throughout the regular season.
They blew the lead that they had on a position for a playoff spot throughout the year.
And in the third period of that game, they were soundly booed off the ice by Red Wings fans.
Now, in the aftermath, Todd McClellan, who has been exasperated with his team down the stretch, was asked about getting booed off the ice as the Detroit Red Wings were going to miss the playoffs for a 10th consecutive season.
And Todd McClellan said, hey, we earned those boos.
We earned that reaction.
We have nobody to blame but ourselves.
Here is a very candid Detroit Red Wings head coach, Todd McClellan, after a 5-3 loss, which ended Detroit's playoff chances on Saturday.
So we'll talk to Will Birchfield later on in the show and dive deeper into this.
But there is a lot going on in Detroit right now.
None of it good.
And there's pressure on everybody in that organization to figure out how this team, this team, who seems so primed to break the playoff drought, absolutely crumbled down the stretch.
