We want a city where we can have, you know, free markets that drive innovation and create jobs, and also a place where we can have strong
safety nets that support all the gaps in those markets to make sure people are cared for.
And so I think we've come out with a plan to do child care for all.
We're focusing on a plan to add twenty thousand units of housing.
So I think we're gonna find that Denver residents believe we can do both.
We can fight for change in Washington and we can make sure we deliver results here at home in Denver.
I mean I I think it's about mobilizing people for things that they wanna fight for as opposed to things they need to fight against.
And I think that the things closest to their home are the things they're gonna be most excited about.
I think the most powerful change we can bring in cities is what you fundamentally see happening with Trump is if people expect something to get fixed and it doesn't get fixed, after a while you can either believe it doesn't get fixed because your neighbors are the problem and they're what's screwing it up or democracy.
Is the problem, and that's what's screwing it up.
Trump has tried to convince Americans to believe both of those arguments.
The way you win that argument is not by fighting back on the ideology, it's by actually proving his hypothesis wrong that actually we can fix things.
You can solve the things that Quentin's talking about.
And when you do that, you see residents show up fundamentally differently because now their instinct is actually to turn to each other and not to turn on each other.
He fundamentally wants us to turn on each other.

When people see that working together works, they're more inclined to do it.
They want to knock more doors, partner with more neighbors, get things done.
Our belief is if we can be that proof point in cities to show you get things done, people are more excited to raise their hand and say, Count me in, I want to help on this civic event or this party event or this opportunity for my town.
That's what gets people to believe again and then to want to engage again.
