She tells me that during a period when she stayed out at Matoda Bay when she was younger, in her late teens, Sam used to tell her strange things.

And now she's aware of the podcast and the case, she thinks it could be relevant.

Remember at the time of these conversations between herself and Sam, there was no podcast and the case wasn't in the forefront of everyone's minds in the same way it is now.

Oh, he called them the tourists.

And so he sort of said to you, he kind of made it sound like he obviously didn't know Heidi, but what, could have met her?

So was he sort of making it sound like as if he'd seen her or...

At this point, we're presented with two possible options.

Either Sam decided years ago to start telling stories about Heidi being buried in the dunes out at Matilda Bay, or he knows something.

Could this skeleton he told me about, if it exists, be related to this case?

Could it be Heidi?

Normally in this situation, I'd be skeptical about this lead, but there's a key point I always come back to.

And that's what David Turner's sister Frankie said that David told her when she asked him, where is she?

Yeah.

the Whitetowa Dunes.

Now, let me take a moment to paint a bit of a picture for you.

Oftentimes, I forget that things that seem obvious to me because of my deep knowledge of this case and details that aren't public are not so obvious to others.

Whitetowa is a small beach community in the Coromandel.

It's a 10-minute drive from Parakawai, where Urban's body was found, and where David Turner admits to Heidi and Urban being present on the Taikato property.
