absolutely no star power to an American audience.
They're not nations or brands that you would think of as traditional powers, and yet they've still been able to deliver pretty sizable audiences.
One that jumped out to me was
opposite the clinch game of the NBA Finals, which was in itself an extraordinary story, Game 5 of the Knicks championship run, we had Scotland playing Haiti.
And I want to make sure I get the number right.
The Scotland-Haiti game delivered 6 million viewers opposite the clinch game of the NBA Finals.
So that would be a good number for an early round NBA playoff game.
That would be a good number for an MLB League Championship Series game.
I'm sure that of that 6 million,
could even 1% name a player on both sides of that matchup.
But still, because of just the energy and the excitement of the event itself, you get 6 million.
Another good example, we did Uzbekistan and Colombia on FS1.
So Uzbekistan, Colombia, on cable,
kickoff time was after 9 30 p.m eastern that match did over 4 million viewers right i'm not trying to be or anything when i say you know could one percent of americans find those two countries on a map like let alone identify players in the match and yet you're still getting that kind of audience just because the energy around the tournament is as great as it is so i think that's a little bit
Not surprising, but just noteworthy how much the brand of the event and the way that it's bringing people together and the way that it's generating just collective excitement, like very few things can, is delivering numbers for matches that don't have any of the elements that we often think of as driving viewership.
They don't have any stars.
They don't have big brands.
These aren't necessarily countries that a lot of Americans trace their lineage back to.
And yet the numbers are exceptional.
Yeah.
