Appearances
Like for most of the events that we do, half the audience is over the age of 50.
That's in a country where half of the population is under the age of 35.
So TV viewing and sports viewing in general skews pretty old.
For the World Cup,
our viewer is about 50% more likely to be under the age of 21 than they would be in other sports that we do, right?
In general, about 10% of our audience is under age 21, if you're talking football, baseball, whatever.
For the World Cup,
It's more like 15%.
So it's an audience that's still older than the general population.
But there's a lot more younger presence in there than we see in other sports.
Some of that is just soccer fandom, you know, new generation that's more open to soccer than maybe guys my age and older.
And sometimes it's just something as simple as it's summer vacation, right?
Kids are home.
The 50 plus population is still in an office.
They're in their workplace for a lot of these games.
The younger audience is home, they're off school, and they're able to just tune in and watch a couple games in a row.
You also said something interesting about there are casual fans, there are diehard fans.
I think we sometimes sort of overestimate what that diehard percentage really is.
When you talk about casuals and diehards, it's not 50% casuals and 50% diehards.
It's like 90% casuals and 10%, if that, that are really deeply, deeply engaged in it and know every player and watch every match.
