We did a pretty interesting, I thought, a pretty interesting piece of research here
where we went out prior to the tournament, we asked American sports fans, are you likely to watch the world cup?
If they said yes, then we said, okay, we're going to read you the names of a bunch of players.
And I want you to tell me, have you ever heard of this guy?
Can you tell me what nation he plays for?
That's it.
You know, that's a fairly low bar, a majority of American sports fans who said they were going to watch the world cup.
could only correctly identify Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
So in a 48-team tournament, where 48 times have started in 11, you're talking about over 500 guys that are starting players on World Cup teams.
The average American sports fan can identify two of them.
And yet that lack of familiarity...
does not prevent us at all from having the success that we've had.
People are still showing up because they're showing up for the event, the energy, just the enthusiasm that comes with the World Cup itself.
It's a little bit similar to March Madness in that way, where you don't necessarily know the players on a lot of these teams, but you're just tuning in for the spirit that surrounds the event.
And I think that's been more true of the World Cup than anything we've seen in a long, long time.
I mean, I think it's a feel-good story that you would have to go back a long way in American sports to find anything quite like it.

I don't know that you would say it's one more than the other.

The numbers that we've seen for the Argentina matches so far, the number that we saw for the first Argentina match, which was over 9 million, I think that's clearly driven by Messi more than it's driven by Americans who are of... I think he has the most draw.
