Like even with Cal Raleigh, he played through a broken thumb for a couple of games and that's really hard to do as a catcher.
There's so many ways you can get banged up with foul tips or getting run over by a
base runners are all sorts of things.
Like we're not going to get to a situation where there's 30 teams who all have a catcher who plays 155 games.
Like that's not going to be the case.
But the more you hear from these guys saying, yeah, this makes it easier on my back and my legs.
I don't think we're going to go back to the real low of the trend we had four or five years ago too, where you'd have like
one or two guys catching more than 110 games.
I think trying to get to a happy medium of keeping the best guys out there, keeping them fresh enough to do it, and this style helping us get there is, I think, where we're going to see the next couple years.
You're going to hate when I say this, but I was somewhat less impressed by that than everybody else.
It's a really cool thing to say.
But just remember, not having a pass ball does not mean no pitch.
They just got scored as wild pitches, which in my book, a pass ball and a wild pitch are exactly the same thing.
I don't even know why we differentiate anymore.
It's a pitch not blocked, and the advanced stats will take into account the location and the velocity and all this and try to put a probability on how likely it was.
It's almost like we don't care about errors, right?
It's a hit or a play not made.
So it's very cool, even though he did get a pass ball in the playoffs.
But it turns out that that's not as big a deal to me as you think because he's just an elite defensive catcher all around, not despite that or not.
Yeah, going back to 2008, this is the highest zone rate of any postseason.
