If those beliefs are accurate, it is possible that once the hour grows sufficiently late, the creature will be compelled to return whence it came.

In the Bible, specifically the Book of Revelations, the title of the old dragon is given to Satan himself.

Whether that has any connection to the creature we encountered remains to be seen.

As I mentioned before, the Bible is something of a Johnny-come-lately when it comes to the foundational texts and traditions concerning Hell.
