They've done that, and they've further inflamed the population, and the people of Iran are demanding regime change within their own country.
That's a good thing.
I want the people of Iran to be freed of this reckless and brutal and thuggish regime, but that's not why Donald Trump is doing it.
Donald Trump has never engaged in foreign intervention because he's concerned about democracy promotion or human rights or spreading the values of a free society that America has.
Never, ever, ever.
What motivates him always is self-interest, and I'll explain this to you.
Line up the autocracies in the world.
If Donald Trump had a freedom agenda that he wanted to promote, he would be turning on the Chinese, trying to keep them from going into Taiwan.
He would be fighting back against Vladimir Putin in Ukraine.
And then, of course, Venezuela, Iran, all of these countries would be treated in a hostile manner.
Instead, Donald Trump goes after the countries that insult him.
What did Nicolas Maduro do in Venezuela?
He mocked Donald Trump and he did a little Trump dance.
And the Washington Post says that was a deciding factor for Trump to go in and seize him from that country.
What's happening in Iran?
The Iranians have threatened and mocked Trump, and they tried to meddle in previous elections to undermine him.
What does he want to do?
He wants to get rid of the Ayatollahs.
