I absolutely hate it.

That is something that I'm working on in therapy because it's not great to not be able to sit with those uncomfy emotions.

But yeah, those kind of instantaneous replies mean that you're not really coming at it from like a regulated self.

You're coming at it from like a heightened emotional state and you're not going to come up with your best replies.

You're probably not going to be honest.

You're probably going to

come from hurt and only make things worse.

And it always makes things worse.

Like it never resolves.

And then even if you think it's resolved, you're like, oh, well, they put a full stop after that.

Okay.

Maybe they're not actually okay.

Maybe they're still resenting me.

Like it doesn't just stop after the conversation is supposedly resolved on paper.

It's like,

well, I won't know until I see them in person if it's actually resolved.

So what's the point?

You may as well have just done it in person anyway.
