Since my last show, which was two weeks ago, as everybody needs a vacation now and then, the Nuggets have played seven games, so I'll try to run through them as quickly as I can.
First, the most terrifying game of the Jokic era.
In Miami, it was a tight game at the half, and nobody was expecting anything.
There was a push-off in the Nuggets paint.
Spencer Jones was pushed toward Nikola Jokic.
He stepped on his foot.
Nikola's knee bent back a bit.
So we spent the next 14 hours or so waiting for Sham Sharania's verdict on the fate of this season.
Fortunately, it was just a bone bruise caused by the knee hyperextension, because now we are all orthopedic experts, so the season is still not lost for the Nuggets.
Nobody could blame the shell-shocked team for getting blown out for the rest of that game, as it was the event nobody experienced with Joker so far.
Two nights later, on New Year's Eve, the Nuggets were in Toronto, played heroically, despite losing Jonas Valanciunas to another calf injury in the third quarter, led by Jamal Murray and their newest star, Peyton Watson, and won the game that caused a huge sigh of relief for the desperate fan base.
Two days later, in Cleveland, Murray and Payton continued putting in numbers, but fell just a bit short.
A sign of better things to come was a surprisingly good game from the pianist Zeke Nadji.
