half of what I've learned over the last few years is that it is, like you said, it's an ongoing process.
Like life is just one big kind of lesson as you go.
And yeah, maybe you'll, you'll kind of figure something out and then in a few years it'll kind of come back again and you'll try and remember the lessons that you learned and you'll put them into place and you'll be like, okay, I have made progress, but it's still there.
You know, it's still, it's still a work in progress, the whole thing all the time.
And it helps you like develop a bit of self-compassion, I think, because if you can settle into the fact that this will keep coming up and you haven't, you can't just conquer things as you go and then they'll never resurface.
It's like...
Okay.
Yeah.
Half of the battle is just forgiving myself and being compassionate with myself about the fact that, oh yeah, this is coming up again.
I've had depression on and off throughout my whole adult life.
And one thing that I've found makes it so much better to handle is if I don't
if i remind myself every time it happens that it's a passing thing yeah like it's actually not going to last forever i know my brain tells me every time it's going to last forever but now i've developed this kind of talk back with myself to go your brain's going to tell you that this is it's always been like this and it will always be like this but you just have to remember that it never ever is yeah same with writer's block it's the same thing like
It's just a passing thing.
If you don't buy into it too much, then it will probably move through even quicker.
Yeah, because if you're irritable at everybody else in your household and you're irritable at yourself for being irritable, it's just so much worse.
It's like, okay, it's all right.
This is just happening because it's this time of the month and maybe I just need like five minutes break and a cup of tea just to kind of be a little bit
I think that's because everyone's kind of –
silently battling with all those thoughts inside their head, but we don't realize it.
We just look at each other and think everyone's, everyone else has got it sorted out.
